Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill Signed into Law

  • On November 24, 2021

Following months of negotiations, President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package into law on November 15. The $1.2 trillion dollar package hosts funding for a wide range of issues, including efforts to rebuild America’s roads and bridges, expand access to clean drinking water and broadband in rural areas, and address the emerging climate crisis. Additionally, the bill aims to strengthen U.S. supply chains with improvements to port infrastructure and waterways through maintenance, repairs, and updated systems. Forest management and conservation programs also stand to gain from the passage, as the funding intends to increase the resilience of forests to wildfires and prioritizes reforestation for wildlife recovery. Additionally, $200 million was allocated to establish a national revegetation effort, including the National Seed Strategy for Rehabilitation and Restoration.
