ASTA Welcomes New Senior Director, Strategic Communications

Alexandria, VA—November 30, 2023—The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) welcomes Katrina Bishop as Senior Director, Strategic Communications.

Katrina comes to ASTA from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) where she served in Public Affairs since 2019. In her role at AEM, Katrina oversaw the advocacy messaging for the association’s government affairs and grassroots work.

Prior to her time at AEM, Katrina worked in the office of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) in Washington D.C., serving as Press Secretary and later Communications Director.

“We are excited to have Katrina join the ASTA team,” stated Andy LaVigne, ASTA President & CEO. “Communication is a critical pat of ASTA’s role as a trusted resource and voice of the U.S. seed industry, and Katrina brings a great deal of leadership and experience that will strengthen and support these efforts into the future.”

In her new role, Katrina will be responsible for implementing the association’s goals for advocacy, outreach to member companies, the agriculture industry, and media. Katrina will start on December 1 and will be based in ASTA’s headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
