ASTA Participates at NAPB Annual Meeting

ASTA had strong representation at the National Association of Plant Breeders’ 2024 meeting. Dr. Sam Crowell attended the meeting on behalf of the association and gave a presentation explaining how plant breeders play an invaluable role in the seed industry, and they collaborate on domestic and international policy issues that impact both plant breeders and seed producers.

ASTA communications and marketing intern and PhD candidate Amaka Ifeduba attended in her capacity as both an NAPB Borlaug Scholar and George Washington Carver Scholar. Out of more than 150 graduate student poster submissions at this year’s meeting, Amaka’s poster on potato heat tolerance was a top 3 awardee! Congratulations to Amaka for her awesome recognition!
