ASTA, Purdue team up for Successful Management Academy

The ASTA Management Academy was held on March 4-8 in West Lafayette, Indiana on Purdue University’s campus. This year’s class was comprised of 25 individuals from across the country and the world, with roles ranging from customer support to area managers, and from organic farming to vegetables and flowers.
The week focused on the practical application of management concepts that are important to the seed industry. Throughout the week, students applied these concepts to current issues. Participants worked through case studies and group activities that simulated challenges facing our industry.
Over the course of the week, the group learned skills in marketing and financial management, organizational leadership, and more, guided by the teaching of seed industry experts and Purdue professors.
