ASRF Awards Roger Krueger Memorial Scholarship to Jorge Venegas

During the recent ASTA Annual Convention in Minneapolis, the American Seed Research Foundation (ASRF) awarded Jorge Venegas, University of Nebraska–Lincoln, with the national Roger Krueger Memorial Scholarship. Venegas is an agronomy doctoral candidate specializing in plant breeding and genetics.

ASRF established the $2,000 memorial scholarship to honor long-time ASRF board member and Monsanto executive, Roger Krueger, who took a special interest in mentoring and challenging the recipients of the Operation Student Connection (OSC). One of ASRF’s key functions, OSC assists and encourages graduate students, majoring in seed biology or seed science and technology, to attend and participate in the ASTA Annual Convention.
