ASTA Attends 2019 Ag Research Congressional Exhibition and Reception May 15

ASTA’s President and CEO Andy LaVigne, currently serving as president of NC-FAR, addresses attendees of the 2019 Ag Research Congressional Exhibition and Reception.
The 2019 Ag Research Congressional Exhibition and Reception was held May 15 on Capitol Hill. The event is the result of a partnership between the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities (APLU), National Coalition for Food and Agricultural Research (NC-FAR), Supporters of Agricultural Research Foundation (SoAR), and Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) Coalition. ASTA President & CEO, Andy LaVigne, who currently serves as president of NC-FAR, gave welcoming remarks along with Rep. Rodney Daivs (R-IL) and Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA). Speakers thanked USDA for the work they do to fund university research in agriculture. The exhibit hall showcased more than 20 displays of impressive USDA-funded agricultural research being done at universities and agencies around the country.
