ASTA Hosts Annual Farm and Lawn Seed Conference

On November 2, ASTA welcomed members to the annual Farm and Lawn Seed Conference in partnership with the Western Seed Association. ASTA kicked off the program with a welcome from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Chief Terry Cosby who offered insight into upcoming announcements from the agency, important priorities moving forward, and opportunities for coordination between NRCS and the seed industry. The general session covered domestic priorities including the upcoming Farm Bill, cover crop policy, federal conservation programs, and more. Additionally, ASTA’s Sorghum Division, Environmental and Conservation Seed Committee, and Cover Crops Working Group hosted focused discussions and open forums on key topics for relevant ASTA members.
