ASTA Participates in IICA Plant Breeding Innovations and Genome Editing Workshop

On April 4-5, ASTA Director of International Programs & Policy Michelle Klieger participated in a two day workshop on plant breeding innovations and gene editing hosted by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Cali, Colombia. Government officials, public researchers, USDA, FDA, and industry from across the Americas participated. Prior to the meeting on April 3, the industry representatives met to talk about their positions. The US delegation was led by USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs Greg Ibach.
