ASTA Supports Ocean Shipping Relief Act of 2021

On August 9, ASTA joined an industry letter in support of the Ocean Shipping Relief Act of 2021. Introduced by Reps. Garamendi (D-CA) and Johnson (R-SD), the legislation addresses crippling challenges in the reliability and affordability of movement of seed internationally. Specific to the seed industry, the legislation would help address current challenges in detention and demurrage charges as well as carrier rejection of U.S. export cargo.
