Congress Passes Temporary Funding Resolution

  • On October 2, 2024

We are two days into the new federal fiscal year, and Congress has been unable to agree on the fate of 12 appropriations bills to fund the government. In an effort to avoid a government shutdown, Congress passed a continuing resolution September 26 that will provide temporary funding for government operations through December 20. This temporary stopgap funding bill will allow lawmakers additional time to come to agreement and ultimately pass a long-term funding bill during the lame duck session following the November elections.
