SIPA Technical Ed Unit to be Held January 28 in Conjunction with ASTA Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference in San Diego

The Seed Innovation & Protection Alliance (SIPA) is hosting a technical education unit on January 28 from 8:00 – 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time in conjunction with ASTA’s Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference in San Diego. The unit will be offered live as well as via online webinar.

The education unit will be broken into two sessions:

• Intellectual Property Owned by Seed Dealers and Distributors: Trademarks, Trade Secrets, Copyrights (8:00 – 9:30 a.m. PT); and
• Summary of the recent holding from the University of California strawberry case over ownership of the university’s strawberry lines and breeding program (9:30 – 10:30 a.m. PT).
